Yes, a good deal of this can be checked automatically before issue, though it will not catch everything. The system can compare what your staff typed into the booking against the traveller details you already hold and against the original search, and raise a warning on screen when something does not line up. Your staff still press the button, but they do it knowing the booking has been looked over.

The checks that work well are the ones based on clear patterns. A surname and given name entered the wrong way round, a name that does not match the passport details saved in the traveller profile, a passport that expires too close to the travel date, a date of birth that makes an adult into a child, a return date that falls before the outbound, or a hotel check in that does not match the day the flight actually lands. These are the mistakes that cost the most to fix later, and they are the easiest for software to spot.

There are real limits to be honest about. The system can only compare the information it has, so if the customer gave you a misspelt name in the first place, nothing will know that until the airport. Some checks also depend on whether the supplier connection sends back the fields needed to compare, so what is available can differ from one supplier to another. And whichever way the check goes, correction rules after issue are set by the airline or hotel, not by your system.

It is worth deciding which warnings should simply appear and which should stop the booking completely, then checking which of those checks your current supplier connections and plan actually support.

Saved.
