Yes, if you have your own branded app on the stores you can send messages straight to your customers' phones, and they do tend to get seen far more often than email. These short alerts are called push notifications, and they appear on the phone screen even when the customer is not using your app. You can use them for a seasonal offer, a reminder that a quote is about to expire, or simply to tell someone their ticket is ready.

There are two honest limits worth knowing before you plan a campaign around this. The customer has to install your app in the first place, and when the app asks permission to send alerts they have to tap yes. If they say no, or they turn alerts off later in their phone settings, you cannot reach them that way until they change it themselves, and no travel system can get around that because the phone makers control it. So an app is a channel for the customers you already have, not a way to find new ones.

Whether you can write and send these messages yourself from your own admin panel, and whether you can send them only to a chosen group such as past Dubai travellers or people who left a search unfinished, depends on how your app was built and what your plan covers. Some setups include self service sending with simple targeting, others need the messages set up for you. It is also wise to keep them infrequent, because the quickest way to lose the channel is to send so many that people switch them off or remove the app.

If this matters to you, ask us what your current plan allows, and request a test message to your own phone so you can see exactly how it looks before you send anything to your customer list.
