No, not for most of what you are likely to change. The content your customers see in the app, the search results, your packages, your banners, your seasonal offers and your markups, all come from the same booking system that runs your website. The app is really a window onto that system, so when you add a supplier or change an offer in your admin panel, the app shows it the next time a customer opens it. Nothing new has to be published and your customers do not have to download anything.

You do need a fresh release when the app itself changes. A new screen, a new payment method, a change to your logo or app icon, or support for a newer version of the phone software all mean a new build that Apple and Google have to review before it reaches anybody. Reviews are usually routine, but they are not instant and either store can come back asking for more information, so app changes are better planned ahead than done in a hurry.

How much you can change on your own depends on how your app was built and on what your plan includes. Content, rates and offers are normally in your hands. Changes to layout, navigation or brand new features sit with the development side and follow a release schedule. It is also worth knowing that some customers stay on an older version for a long time because they have turned off automatic updates.

Before you commit to an app, ask plainly which parts you will be able to edit yourself from your admin panel and which parts need a new store release, and make sure your prices and promotions fall in the first group.
