Yes, in most booking systems searches are recorded separately from bookings, so you can see what people looked for on your website even when they left without paying.

A search report normally shows the destination or city, the travel dates, how many travellers were included and when the search was made. Over a few weeks that builds a picture of what your customers actually want, which is often quite different from what you are busy selling. You may find steady interest in a route you have no good rate for, or a season where enquiries start climbing well before your bookings do.

There are limits worth knowing. The detail you get depends on your plan and on what your search forms ask for, because if the form never collects something, no report can show it later. Some suppliers also return less information than others, and a search that failed because a supplier did not respond can look much the same as a search where the customer simply changed their mind, unless the system notes the reason. If you run a website and a mobile app, the two may need to be counted together before the totals make sense.

Used properly this is the cheapest market research you will ever get, because it comes from people who already chose to visit your site, and it can guide which supplier contracts to chase and when to run your campaigns. Ask your provider which search fields are being stored today, whether failed searches are marked as such, and whether you can export the data so you can read it beside your actual sales.
